Watervale shopping centre responds to brazen ram-raid
Watervale shopping centre has turned to Australian Bollards for help after a brazen ram raid attack earlier this week.
In the early hours of Monday morning a four-wheel drive and a van crashed through the entrance of the shopping centre in Melbourne’s West.
CCTV footage shows the thieves loading the van with an ATM before making an escape.
A Watervale shopping centre representative has told Australian Bollards that the incident has left them with thousands of dollars’ worth of repairs and they are now looking at the best solutions to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Our sales team are customising a solution and has recommended the ‘High Impact Energy Absorbing Bollard’.
With 11mm thick walls and a concrete backfilled installation, these bollards will provide a barrier that would ensure no vehicle can ram-raid the centre again.
The centre already has Australian Bollard solutions at a different entrance of the building but bollards were not installed at the entrance which was targeted.
