Centurion - Protecting your tomorrow, today

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) are a constant and very real threat in today's society. Because of this, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) is fast becoming more and more important in preventing such events from occurring. Without these protective mechanisms put in place, it leaves people without the protection they deserve. Nicholas Marasco, the General Manager of Australian Bollards believes that safety is paramount when it comes to protecting people, a belief that is too shared by the Israeli government.  ...read more

'Little Streets', Larger Space

As a plan to make Melbourne the premier bicycle city of Australia, Lord Mayor Sally Capp has released a 10-year draft transport strategy. The plan is to expand the six kilometres of protected bike lanes to more than 50 kilometres by the year 2030; creating more space for pedestrians and cyclists in the CBD. The council will remove some of the city’s off-street parking, clearing the equivalent of 30 MCGs or 20 Burke St Malls of space. Our esteemed ‘Little Streets’ of Melbourne’s CBD (Little Collins, Little Burke, Little Lonsdale, Little La   ...read more

Secure Your Post With Security Posts

Thieves used a ute to ram a storefront in Coburg. The newsagency and Australia Post office was hit around 4:30AM on Friday the 15th. While it is unknown if any valuable inventory was stolen, the damage to the storefront will cost thousands of dollars to repair. The store had also been ram-raided before, with thieves taking a cigarette cabinet. Ram raids like this are often opportunistic in nature. The perpetrators find an exposed storefront and crash through the door or window with a car. In order to prevent such incidents, Australian Bollards offers a range of products to protect  ...read more

Australian Bollards has recently completed a bollard installation at the Hoyts cinema on Wells Street in Frankston. The high-impact, VBIED-rated bollards will keep cinemagoers and shoppers safe as they go about their day. Additionally, the bollards provide ram-raid protection for the cinema and the surrounding businesses. Removable bollards have also been installed on a side entrance to the footpath, keeping it secure while allowing emergency vehicles to be let in if the situation calls for it. It was important to consider the elevated sections and planter boxes already there, as t  ...read more

Bollards Installed on Burgundy Street

Bollards have recently been installed in two places on Burgundy Street in Heidelberg. With the Australian Bollards main office located in Heidelberg West, we’re always happy to see our bollards in the surrounding area. The intersection of Burgundy Street and Hawdson Street can get quite busy. To protect pedestrians waiting to cross, pairs of bollards at each corner of the intersection discourage cars from mounting the kerb while doing tight turns. The stainless steel removable bollards installed in front of parking spaces on Burgundy Street are designed to keep  ...read more

Bunbury Ram Raiders Strike Again

A Good Guys store in Bunbury, WA was ram raided last week. Nearby police officers attempted to confront the suspects, but the thieves ran away. Several Bunbury businesses were hit by ram raids last year, so it makes sense for stores like The Good Guys to be protected by bollards. Unfortunately, the bollards were uprooted by the impact and the roller door was caved in, causing massive damage to the storefront. While the bollards themselves are intact, the foundations were ripped out of the ground, with sand spilling out of the holes. This incident shows the importance o  ...read more
