Centurion - Protecting your tomorrow, today

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) are a constant and very real threat in today's society. Because of this, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) is fast becoming more and more important in preventing such events from occurring. Without these protective mechanisms put in place, it leaves people without the protection they deserve. Nicholas Marasco, the General Manager of Australian Bollards believes that safety is paramount when it comes to protecting people, a belief that is too shared by the Israeli government.  ...read more

Directing the Flow, Pedestrians and Protection.

With the Federal election coming up on Saturday the 18th of May, everyone is busy figuring out where they are to vote and how many people they’ll have to stand with to get the voting done. With over 16,000,000 people lining up to vote, time and effort will ultimately need to be put into organising and structuring polling areas. One effective way to assist in this is the introduction of temporary T-top Hi-Vis Orange PVC bollards to structure pedestrians into neat and flowing lines. These T-Top Hi-Vis Orange PVC bollards can be used as non-permanent crowd control bar  ...read more

'Little Streets', Larger Space

As a plan to make Melbourne the premier bicycle city of Australia, Lord Mayor Sally Capp has released a 10-year draft transport strategy. The plan is to expand the six kilometres of protected bike lanes to more than 50 kilometres by the year 2030; creating more space for pedestrians and cyclists in the CBD. The council will remove some of the city’s off-street parking, clearing the equivalent of 30 MCGs or 20 Burke St Malls of space. Our esteemed ‘Little Streets’ of Melbourne’s CBD (Little Collins, Little Burke, Little Lonsdale, Little La   ...read more

Bollards Installed on Burgundy Street

Bollards have recently been installed in two places on Burgundy Street in Heidelberg. With the Australian Bollards main office located in Heidelberg West, we’re always happy to see our bollards in the surrounding area. The intersection of Burgundy Street and Hawdson Street can get quite busy. To protect pedestrians waiting to cross, pairs of bollards at each corner of the intersection discourage cars from mounting the kerb while doing tight turns. The stainless steel removable bollards installed in front of parking spaces on Burgundy Street are designed to keep  ...read more

Party’s Over for Small Business

Two thieves used bolt cutters to break in to a small business in Willaston, South Australia on Friday morning. CCTV footage shows the pair hooking the $10,000 trailer to their Nissan Pajero, closing the front gate and driving off undisturbed in to the night. Unfortunately, the owner of the party hire business hadn’t insured his custom-built trailer and will have to cancel upcoming events that require the trailer.
