As a plan to make Melbourne the premier bicycle city of Australia, Lord Mayor Sally Capp has released a 10-year draft transport strategy. The plan is to expand the six kilometres of protected bike lanes to more than 50 kilometres by the year 2030; creating more space for pedestrians and cyclists in the CBD. The council will remove some of the city’s off-street parking, clearing the equivalent of 30 MCGs or 20 Burke St Malls of space. The surface-mounted road blocker is another great innovation to bring the utility of a retractable HVM device with the convenience of avoiding a deep excavation process. Unlike previous missions, which literally scratched the surface, InSight has a probe which is designed to dig 5 metres into the ground and measure how much heat is coming up from deep within Mars.
