St James Primary School acts on pledge to keep students safe
by: Australian Bollards on
St James The Apostle Primary School at Hoppers Crossing has installed twenty three stainless steel bollards at the curb at their pick-up and drop-off zone.
Before the installation, the curb presented a danger as students had to stand close to the moving traffic. Now the bollards create a barrier between students and traffic, keeping them safe during the busy morning and afternoon hours.
The bollards make sure potential accidents won’t result in harm. Cars will be stopped before hitting the curb, preventing incidents like the one at Greenacre School in Sydney this November where a mother accidentally crashed her car through a class room’s wall.
St James The Apostle sets itself apart by its emphasis on diversity and inclusivity as well as each student’s right to feel safe and be safe. Upgrading the drop-off zone was a natural step to take.
The 140 mm diameter sub surface mounted bollards were manufactured and installed by Australian Bollards. Three of them are pad lockable, allowing for maintenance, service or emergency vehicles to enter the school’s premises if needed.
They provide a versatile and unobtrusive solution, enhancing security in a simple yet effective way. We encourage other schools to follow St James’ lead to take steps to ensure their students are safe.
Australian Bollards manufactures and installs bollards Australia wide. We can cater for a variety of needs from standard bollards to tailored designs.
