The ‘Protection Posts’ – AB-SRP2000-GAL – are designed to be set up between railway tracks, providing protection to the signalling systems and ensuring safety from reckless drivers.
Throughout Melbourne and Victoria there are many projects concerning the remodelling and upgrade of train stations, as well as the construction of brand new stations. The Level Crossing Removal Project plans to rid Melbourne of 75 level crossings and upgrade the rail line to be raised above the road. Australian Handrails aided the upgraded stations on the Level Crossings Removal Project by providing our handrails, stairs, and bump rails. With 30 of these level crossings already removed, the project is well on its way.
Rail Projects Victoria is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of these projects; Station upgrades, the Metro Tunnel, Regional Rail Revival, the Melbourne Airport Rail, the Western Rail Plan and the Fast Rail to Geelong.
The Metro Tunnel Project looks at untangling Melbourne’s CBD train stations with additional stations as well as the new fleet of High Capacity Metro Trains, which will be capable of carrying 20% more people than any other train network.
Four new stations are on the way for Melbourne city. The new Town Hall and State Library stations in the CBD will be connected to the City Loop at Melbourne Central and Flinders Street stations. The remaining stations are Anzac Station – taking pressure off St Kilda Road – and Parkville which can be easily accessed by Melbourne University.
More than ever, Victoria’s railway system needs to be updated with the latest in protective technological solutions, to ensure these renovations retain the highest possible quality.
