No protection at shop front crash
by: Australian Bollards on
An 88-year old woman has lost control of her car, ploughing into a café in suburban Geelong.
A café visitor was thrown across the floor in the incident which is believed to have been caused by the elderly woman mistaking her accelerator for her brake.
7 News footage of the aftermath shows the café had a lack of bollard protection.
These are simple solutions which prevent accidents turning into disasters.
Paramedics were on the scene but thankfully no one was seriously injured this time.
We urge shop, restaurant, café and business owners to ensure street fronts are well protected, particularly in situations where car parks face towards buildings.
Not only does this protect the lives of the people within the buildings, it is also protecting the livelihoods of the business owners as it prevents the building from receiving damage from out of control cars.
