Never again ram-raids at Blackburn North
by: Australian Bollards on
Only a few months ago, a man peered into a shop in Blackburn North. Soon after, he rammed his four-wheel drive into it and left without trouble.
The store front was completely unprotected and unprepared for the attack. But not anymore. The event has made Blackburn North take steps to increase security around the building.
By installing 168mm diameter bollards, an NJM Group propriety product, in front of the entrance, they have made sure ram-raids are now a thing of the past.
The sub surface mounted, concrete backfilled bollards prevent unauthorised vehicles from forcing their way through. At the same time, authorised vehicles can easily pass anytime, as the middle bollard is removable.
Feeling safe from shop front crashes should be the default requirements of any shopping centre. That’s why Australian Bollards surface mounted GP 100 bollards have also been installed in front of the store front café, making sure customers can now enjoy their coffee in peace.
As we have seen recently, ram-raids are becoming more and more common, and shopping centres are often the target. All shopping centres should acknowledge the risk of ram-raids and shop front crashes and take steps to protect their property, staff and customers.
NJM Group has already installed bollards around several sites including Watervale, Crown Casino, Castle Hill & RMIT University. We hope others follow the lead before more attacks can happen.
