Celebrating Sir Donald Bradman's 110th Birthday

Today marks Australian cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman’s 110th birthday. His test scores are still incomparable with anyone else who has played the game, making a total of almost 7,000 runs over 52 tests. And his statue can now be found protecting sports fans at Adelaide Oval. At the peak of his career the English cricket team created the Bodyline method of bowling, which was intended to attack the batsman’s body. This offensive hostile method proved difficult for batsmen but not for Bradman, who managed to curb the effect of offensive bowling tactics whic  ...read more

Ram Raid Thieves Make Destructive Blunder

Another day and another ram raid; this time in the suburb of Keysborough. Early on Tuesday morning, a pair of masked burglars rammed a stolen truck into Kingsclere Shopping Centre. Their target was an ATM inside the centre, but things didn’t quite go as planned. After managing to get the truck wedged between the ATM and a newsagency, they had to call for backup. A third accomplice arrived in another stolen vehicle – a Holden Commodore – and attempted to ram the truck to free it. But it was a futile attempt, only managing to further damage the veh  ...read more

Quality meets Standard

Bollards are required to meet certain safety standards across the globe. PAS 68 cites a classification system for the performance of vehicle security barriers and their supporting foundations when subjected to a single horizontal impact. At Australian Bollards, we partner with our European counterparts to manufacture and install bollards which have been specifically tested under the PAS 68 standards. Our PAS 68 Trident bollards system in association with Rhino guard bollards, is state of the art technology, used to specifically prevent VBIED and other acts of threats. Trid  ...read more

Saving Space For a Fitter Future

Australia’s population continues to rise. Estimates from the United Nations on Wednesday delivered us a number just short of 25 million people, revealing a solid increase of over 300,000 since last year. Our larger cities’ CBD’s and university campuses are certainly noticing the increase. It’s a good thing for both tourism and education that our hot spots are so active but it does raise some issues. Notably, the lack of space for securing of bikes. If there isn’t somewhere to safely chain up bikes people may stop riding them. Less pe  ...read more

Perth Business Owner Taken For a Ride

An early morning ram-raid has potentially cost a Perth business owner tens of thousands of dollars on Thursday. The event which occurred at around 2am, involved a gang of masked thieves ramming their way into Kalamunda Cycles with a four-wheel drive. Using bolt cutters, they stole some of the most expensive bikes in the store; a haul totalling around $16,000 in value. Jo Bennett - the owner - was alerted by the store alarm but was forced to watch helplessly while it was robbed and damaged. We can add this event to the list that forces us to recognize the im  ...read more

Upgrades to Melbourne’s Busiest Tram Corridor

The tram corridor on St Kilda Road and Swanston Street is one of the busiest in the world. It’s also Melbourne’s most crowded and a notorious stop for commuters. The proposed new interchange, named ANZAC Station, will include what the City of Melbourne has called a “super stop”, which will reduce pressure on vehicles, trams and trains by allowing access via four entry points to bike and pedestrian paths, tram stops and a train station, all in the one place. NJM Group supports City of Melbourne taking positive steps towards a cleane  ...read more

Protecting 7-Eleven

Early on Wednesday morning a gunman entered a Springvale 7-Eleven store with the intent to rob it. The incident ended with an employee being shot in the elbow and the robber fleeing. This has not been a solitary event. Earlier this month, a Richmond 7-Eleven hosted a robbery and last year we saw a terrifying incident where a woman attacked complete strangers with an axe. All of these events occurred during the early hours of the morning. Priding themselves on providing convenience around the clock, 7-Elevens’ 24-hour service policy is an important part of the chains su  ...read more

CFA To Ramp Up Security After Wave Of Break-Ins

Thieves entered the property by ripping at a door handle some time over the weekend before leaving with over $10,000 worth of equipment. Green, Mean Protection at the MCG

Melbourne’s sporting lifestyle means that every weekend, die-hard fans congregate at the MCG or other such venues to watch their club battle it out with the opposition. The congregation of these die-hard fans has significant consequences in terms of the accumulation of plastic rubbish and food waste. Luckily, the MCG have come up with a plan to curb the problem. All plastic and food waste which is left at the MCG will be collected, recycled and turned into protective bollards. The MCG has a plan to produce as many of these bollards as they can to eventually replac  ...read more
