Bicycle Superstore prevents ram-raids with simple solution
by: Australian Bollards on
A Bicycle Superstore in Highpoint Shopping Center in Maribyrnong has decided to install bollards in front of their facade to protect it against ram-raids.
Ram-raids is a phenomenon where vehicles are used as a tool to ram through entrances to steal goods. It has unfortunately become more and more common.
One of the most recent incidents happened only a few months ago when two thieves used a ute to smash the entrance of a Koo Wee Rup liquor store in Melbourne’s southeast to steal cigarette lighters and cash. In July, two people ram-raided a petrol station in Rowville, only to take six chocolate bars and two bottles of coke.
As stores remain unprotected, it's easy for thieves to spontaneously go on ram-raids.
That is why it is not hard to understand why shops like Bicycle Superstore choose to install bollards. Paying for repairs or stolen goods would be inconvenient and expensive for any store owner, and could even put some out of business.
Australian Bollards is proud to have been able to provide consultancy to Bicycle Superstore to have the bollards installed.
We have extensive experience in providing similar solutions to other stores such as Blackburn Shopping Centre, Coles Patterson Lakes, Watervale Shopping Centre and many more. We can also provide tailored solutions such as the magnetic blue bollards we installed at Amart Sports.
Bollards are a cheap and effective way to prevent ram-raids, and we hope other stores will consider this solution.
