Attention, Passengers: Hawkstowe Station at Your Service
by: NJM Group Marketing on
With the Mernda Rail Extension now complete, over 8,000 commuters from Melbourne’s northern suburbs can now reach the CBD each day.
Three new train stations built along the extension will provide passengers with easy access to work, school, shopping and entertainment around Melbourne’s CBD, Middle Gorge and Hawkstowe stations.
NJM Group and Australian Handrails are glad to have worked alongside John Holland on the government’s $2.4 billion Level Crossing Removal project which finished in August this year.
Our team of experienced installers custom designed and installed handrails, balustrades, public furniture, glass partitions and perforated panelling in key areas along the Mernda Rail Extension.
With the use of elevated platforms which can be reached via staircase, as well as the community area outside, Melbourne’s modern aesthetic has been complimented by the security installations installed at these sites.
By utilising elevated and lowered platform designs, Melbourne has rebuilt many of its stations which require access ramps and lifts to give access to those who need it and to decongest our train stations, level crossings and roadways.
Many stations have been rebuilt in the removal of Melbourne’s congested level crossings, often with elevated or lowered platforms that require staircases and access ramps. Australian Handrails products are ideal in such cases to provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing solution.
NJM Group is proud to work with organisations such as the Level Crossing Removal Authority and Metro Trains Melbourne to improve Victorian infrastructure.
